For fiction, your content editor will analyse your characters and plot and setting to discover if these are relevant and believable, as well as make sure your story moves provides conflict and resolution throughout.
Copy-Edit — Your copy editor will make sure your grammar and punctuation and spelling and use of language are correct. Corrections include word choices and all the intricate details of the structure of the sentences.
